My front-line role
I am the Liberal Democrat County Councillor for The Colneys division. The ‘Your Community’ section provides local service information, news, events, and contacts about the area.
I represent the interests of around 14,000 residents of the communities in my division and I work closely with London Colney and Colney Heath Parish Councils.
As is the case with every County Councillor, I have a locality budget of £10,000 a year to spend on community projects in the division. Follow the links for more details of the scheme and details of application have previously agreed and declined.
My County Council responsibilities
Since being elected in 2009 I have sat on various scrutiny committees and cabinet panels. I currently sit on the Overview & Scrutiny and Development Control Committees as well as the Environment, Economy & Community Safety Cabinet Panel.
Roles on outside bodies
I am currently involved with the CVS (Councils for Voluntary Service), the Scouts and the CAB (Citizens Advice Bureau). Also, Twinning Associations, Rural England, Green Belt Protection of Hertfordshire and Residents’ Associations.
Personal, professional and political details
After leaving school at 16 years of age to start work in the film and television industry, I now own a film production company.
I have been a Liberal for over 40 years and joined the Liberal Democrats in 1986. As well as a County Councillor, I am also a St Albans District Councillor and a Colney Heath Parish Councillor.
