My front-line role
I am the Conservative County Councillor for Hatfield Rural division. This includes Brookmans Park, Little Heath, Northaw, Cuffley, Newgate Street, Essendon and Wild Hill. I have represented the division for over 16 years. The ‘Your Community’ section provides local service information, news, events, and contacts about the area.
As is the case with every County Councillor, I have a locality budget of £10,000 a year to spend on community projects in the division. Follow the links for more details of the scheme and details of applications I have previously agreed and declined.
My County Council responsibilities
I am currently a member of the Highways and Transport Panel, the Environment Economics and Community Panel, and the Overview and Scrutiny committee. I am the County representative on the Hertfordshire Local Access Forum.
In the past I have chaired the Development Control committee and the Rural Estate committee and served on the Health Scrutiny committee.
Roles on outside bodies
I’m on the Chilterns Conservation Board of which I have been Vice Chairman since its establishment.
I am a Parish Councillor for North Mymms. I am President of North Mymms Memorial Hall and a member of the British Legion.
I am a past Chairman of Hatfield Rural District Council and of Welwyn Hatfield District Council.
Personal, professional and political details
I am a retired Chartered Quantity Surveyor and have studied at Queens College Cambridge and The Regent St Polytechnic School of Architecture and Building.
