My front-line role

I am the Liberal Democrat County Councillor for St Stephen’s division.  The ‘ Your Community ’ section provides local service information, news, events, and contacts about the area. I represent the interests of around 13,000 residents of the communities in St Stephen’s Division. I work with the local City and District and Parish Councils.

As is the case with every County Councillor, I have a locality budget of £10,000 a year to spend on community projects in the division.  Follow the links for more details of the scheme and details of application have previously agreed and declined.

My County Council responsibilities

I was first elected in May 1993 and  most recently I have sat on various Cabinet Panels and Committees including the Children’s Services & Corporate Parenting and Education & Skills Cabinet Panels. All children, especially vulnerable children, are my main focus.

Highways continues to account for a tremendous part of my time too, as I work tirelessly to get our local roads and footpaths up to a decent standard.

Personal, professional and political details

I am also a St Albans District Councillor and currently have the honour of holding the office of Mayor of St Albans for 2011/12.
