Private tuition and tutors

Private tutors are not regulated by Hertfordshire County Council, and have not been Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked by us. Any details of DBS coverage should be obtained directly from the tutor. HCC does not hold a list of approved tutors for the public.

Newspapers and libraries may also hold advertisements by local private tutors, but these are not endorsed by the local authority.

There is a national programme of 1:1 tuition running in some schools at the moment, which provides additional tuition for specific pupils who have been identified as needing extra suport. The tutors will be qualified and CRB checked. To find out more, please contact the school directly.
