Every year Paradise Furniture redistribute 4000 items of low-cost second-hand furniture and white goods. People on benefits get a 50% discount. People in urgent need can be referred by Social Services and other agencies and will receive priority treatment. A collection and delivery service is available. The project also offers a reupholstering service for dining chairs and ottomans.
The Furniture Warehouse runs an office furniture scheme, redistributing furniture salvaged from office refits and end of lines to charities, schools and small businesses.
As well as redistributing unwanted furniture the project also provides training and volunteering opportunities. Their training course offers specialist training in construction skills, forklift driving, Health and Safety, beauty and arts and crafts. Many of these courses can be offered free to people who are not in full time employment or who face a barrier to accessing training.
