What help is available for travel?

16 - 18 year olds in Hertfordshire travelling to school or college could be eligible for some help with their transport costs. Student discounts are available for both buses and trains and we may even be able to help you if you don't live near a suitable bus or train route. If you are attending school sixth form or Further Education (FE) college you may be able to purchase a Hertfordshire Student TrainCard to obtain discounted season ticket train travel. Details of the train discount available can be found by following the 'TrainCard scheme' link on the right of this page. For information on how to get cheaper bus travel go to the 'SaverCard scheme' link on the right of this page. If your family is on qualifying benefits you may receive assistance with home to school transport. For further information follow the 'How Can We Help' link on the right of this page. Details of all the assistance available and contact addresses can be found in the full 16-19 Transport Policy available below. For information on bus and train services in Hertfordshire (including routes and times) see the Intalink website, accessible from the righthand side of this page. Alternatively, call the traveline on 0871 200 22 33 (Calls from BT landlines cost 10p per minute, other providers' charges may vary).
