Composition:

a) for health scrutiny purposes:

• 14 members of the Council
• 5 District Councillors nominated by the Hertfordshire Local Government Association
• 5 persons nominated by the Patients Forum (non-voting)

b) for other purposes:

• 10 members of the Council

REMIT

a) health scrutiny:

• the planning, provision and operation of all health services in the County except for services provided or commissioned by Primary Care Trusts
• to be a statutory consultee in relation to proposals by local NHS bodies for substantial development of the health service in the County.

b) adult care scrutiny

• the policies and services of the Council as Social Services Authority in relation to adults
• gypsy site provision

Note:

Scrutiny of services provided or commissioned by the eight Primary Care Trusts in the County is carried out under arrangements agreed between the County Council and the relevant District Council(s).
