Help at home in Hertfordshire
There are many ways to get help in the home so you can stay independent.
Many services are provided at low cost by local organisations. You can also buy services and equipment yourself.
The Hertfordshire eMarketplace is a website where you can search and shop for goods and services from a range of providers. You can compare prices, order and pay online, ask questions, rate providers and see how others have rated them. All at a time that suits you.
If you are not sure what equipment is available or what would help you, try AskSara.
AskSara is an interactive advice tool to help you find expert information and the right solution. Answer a few questions about your situation and AskSara will give you advice about what equipment would be suitable and links to buy online.
The links on the left and below provide information and advice on support and services available to help you.
Independent advice and help with services
If you are considering arranging your own services, equipment, or adaptations to your home you could use a broker to help you. Brokers provide independent advice and can organise services that suit your needs.
Support from Health and Community Services
Some people are entitled to services from the county council. You may have to pay a contribution towards the cost of these services. Our fair access to care services criteria explain who qualifies for help.
If you think you are eligible for support we can assess your needs. You can request a social care assessment using the form below or by contacting us.
