Support Roles in Schools
There is a huge variety of support roles in our schools, supporting the teaching and learning of pupils in a range of ways.
These include Teaching Assistants, Bursars, Business and HR Managers, Technicians, Librarians, Breakfast and After Schools Club Workers, Behaviour Support Workers, Mid-day Supervisors, Caretaking and Site Staff, Exam Invigilators, Cover Supervisors, Office and Administration Staff to name but a few!
Hertfordshire schools have their own online recruitment website for staff in schools, including teaching and support roles, www.teachinherts.com. Our schools are responsible for recruiting their own staff, but most schools advertise their vacancies on this website, so it is a good place to start looking for a job.
You may also find advertisements for support staff in your local paper or online at http://www.tes.co.uk/jobs, or you can approach schools directly to find out about any forthcoming vacancies and to make contact with the school.
The Hertfordshire Supply Service (HESS+) which runs our teaching supply service has recently expanded their operation to include support staff, including temporary assignments for experienced teaching assistants, early years' practitioners, caretakers and office staff.
