Financial help for students post-18 — change to application process

Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) has provided a service for Hertfordshire Student Finance applications for many years. However as from 25 March 2011, responsibility for processing student finance applications will be transferred to Student Finance England. This move is in line with all local authorities in England.

HCC will therefore be unable to respond to any student finance enquiries or visitors from 25 March onwards and families should contact Student Finance England instead (contact details below).

All existing students will be contacted directly by Student Finance England to advise them of the new arrangements. New students who are starting courses in September 2011 should visit www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance to access the application process.

Student finance correspondence received up to and including 25 March 2011 will be dealt with by HCC for Hertfordshire students. However, after 25 March 2011 any correspondence relating to student finance for Hertfordshire students should be sent directly to:
