Nursery admissions 2013-14

Nursery admissions

If your child is born between 1 September 2010 and 31 August 2011 and you do not have a nursery place for 2014/15, you can:

  • contact nurseries direct for a nursery place for 2014/15
  • view the list of nurseries with vacancies
  • register a continued interest direct to the nursery at any time
  • contact the Family Information Service who have details of private, voluntary and independent providers not on the online system who may have places available.

Hertfordshire County Council has a duty to provide access to 15 hours a week of free early years provision for all three and four year olds. Full time provision would normally be three hours per session five days a week; part time would normally be fewer days per week.

When will my child start at nursery?

Children born between 1 September 2011 and 31 August 2012 can apply online for nursery places in February 2015.

The county council has a two intake policy for nursery admissions:

  • September 2014 intake for children born between 1 September 2010 and 28 February 2011
  • January 2015 intake for children born between 1 March 2011 and 31 August 2011

However, some schools operate a different intake system. Please speak to the school direct to confirm your child’s start date.
