When will my child start at nursery?
The county council has a two intake policy for nursery admissions:
- September 2015 intake for children born between 1 September 2011 and 29 February 2012
- January 2016 intake for children born between 1 March 2012 and 31 August 2012
However, some schools operate a different intake system. Please speak to the school direct to confirm their intake policy.
How will places be offered?
All schools will allocate places in accordance with their published admission arrangements. The county council has published nursery admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled nursery school/classes for 2015/16. Voluntary aided and foundation schools and academies usually have a different set of published admission rules. You can view school admission arrangements here.
What hours will my child be offered?
Hertfordshire County Council has a duty to provide access to 15 hours a week of free early years provision for all three and four year olds. Full time provision would normally be three hours per session five days a week; part time would normally be fewer days per week.
