Parent Teacher Associations

Parent Teacher Associations (PTA) (sometimes also known as "Friends of... followed by the name of the school) have no formal powers but they do act as a way of communicating between the school's teaching staff and the parents of its pupils.
One of the main areas of work undertaken by PTAs is
fundraising which is sometimes carried out through organising social activities.
