Clerking Service
Governance will arrange for a clerk to support the work of the governing body, providing specific advice on all process and statutory issues, as well as enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of meetings.
There are two levels of service:
Standard: The clerk attends meetings to provide advice and guidance. Taking of minutes and distribution of paperwork is not included.
Comprehensive: The clerk is responsible for drafting and circulating the agenda and other papers, will attend meetings and take and circulate the minutes.
A
discount of 5% on the normal charge for the Comprehensive Service is offered to schools where
all documents for which the clerk is responsible are distributed electronically. It also applies where copying and distribution of all paperwork is undertaken by the school.
(The full charge is payable where at least some of the paperwork for meetings is normally in hard copy and the clerk is required to print, copy and/or post it to one or more governors.)
