New Governor

You have become a member of the biggest army of volunteers in this country. There are over 8,000 governors in Hertfordshire – 350,000 in England.

As a Hertfordshire governor your role is helping to ensure that all our young people receive the best educational opportunities so that they achieve their full potential at school and in adult life.

Governance is the dedicated team within the Children, Schools and Families Service (CSF) of Hertfordshire County Council which aims to meet the needs of individual governors and governing bodies of all the county’s schools, in the light of national legislation and guidance.

Hertfordshire’s Children's, Schools and Families service places the needs of children at the centre of its work. It brings together professionals from a range of disciplines, working together to provide the support needed to enable children, schools and families to reach their full potential.
