Apply to be a governor

You can access the on-line application form by clicking on the link on the right.

Support for Governors
Governor training, advice and support is available from Governance, a dedicated team working within Hertfordshire County Council’s Children, Schools and Families Service. But you’ll learn most at your own school. There is no substitute for visiting the school and talking to staff and pupils. School governors have a legal right to reasonable unpaid leave from their employer.

“Governor training has been very helpful and empowering for me. Governors are keen to show newcomers the ropes. We’ve all got the school’s best interests at heart. We can all make a contribution.”
Janet Owolabi, foundation governor

“Personally, I’ve gained a tremendous amount from being a governor. I’ve never stopped learning. It has helped me in my career.”
Fran Cooke, parent governor
