Mainstream Schools with Special Educational Needs Support Units

Primary Support Bases (PSBs) provide an intensive period of support for pupils with severe learning difficulties.

They provide "extended roll", where pupils are dual registered and receive support from the base in their own school. Following this support many pupils are able to continue in a mainstream setting. Other pupils may be admitted to the PSB permanent roll for a period of intensive support and assessment.
