Timetable for student support arrangements for continuing full time students in 2008/2009

You need to apply for support for every year of your course and you must meet the following deadlines if you want to receive the first instalment of your student support at the start of your course in the academic year 2008/2009.

You will not normally be eligible for support for the year if you apply later than 9 months after the start of the academic year.
  • The Student Loans Company should have contacted you about how to re apply for Student Support for 2008/2009. If you have not heard from the Student Loans Company you can contact their helpline on:

  • Your application must be fully and accurately completed and returned to Hertfordshire County Council at the address below by the 23rd May 2008
  • . Any online application must be fully submitted by the same date.

  • Your financial assessment letter will be sent to you between May and August 2008 depending on the date that you applied. You will also receive a payment schedule letter approximately two weeks before your course begins. This will show what you will be paid and when. Keep these letters safe, you will need them when you register.

  • When you register on your course and your attendance has been confirmed by your college, your money should be in your bank account within 3-5 working days


  • These are latest dates and you are strongly advised to return your fully completed application form to us as soon as possible.

    If you are applying for the Non Means Tested Loan only, you should return your completed form to Hertfordshire County Council by the 25th April 2008. Any on line application must be fully submitted by the same date.

    If you have met the deadlines given above and the details you provided to Hertfordshire County Council have not subsequently changed, your first instalment of loan and any additional grant should be issued by the Student Loans Company direct to your bank account within 3-5 working days of your registration.
