National Health Service Bursaries
If you expect to receive a means tested bursary from the National Health Service/Department of Health you may still be entitled to financial support, but at a reduced level.
NHS bursaries are available for courses in the following subjects:
Chiropody
Dental Hygiene
Dental Therapy
Dietetics
Nursing
Midwifery
Occupational Therapy
Orthoptics
Physiotherapy
Prosthetics and Orthotics
Radiography
Speech and Language Therapy
If you receive a non means tested bursary or award from the NHS you will not be entitled to any student support.
If you receive a means tested bursary or award from the NHS you will not be eligible for any means tested support for your course but you will still be entitled to approximately half of the full rate of loan for living cost support which will not be means tested.
- If you receive a non means tested bursary you should not apply to Hertfordshire for assistance.
- If you receive a means tested bursary you will not be required to provide information for an assessment of income, but you will need to complete a PN1 Student Support Application Form. You will also be asked to send confirmation of your bursary to Hertfordshire County Council when you have heard from the NHS.
