Aim Higher
Aim Higher is a three year campaign from the DfES providing information to young people aged 13-19 about going to university and the benefits of higher education.
The information provided is designed to reach young people at two important stages in their academic careers: either just as they are about to commence studying for their GCSEs, or once they have attained their GCSE qualifications.
Special attention is made on reaching those people who may not have considered entering higher education or do not feel that they have the necessary skills to do well in university. The aim of the site is to increase expectations - both of students and also of their teachers.
The campaign also provides information about the financial support available to students. New forms of extra financial help for bright young people from disadvantaged backgrounds are being pilotted as part of the scheme.
Other features of the site are multimedia presentations of Aim Higher roadshows which have taken place in the country, screen savers and e-cards.
