Help with music fees
We may be able to help with the cost of music fees if your child receives instrumental/vocal music tuition from Hertfordshire Music Service, either in a Local Authority school or a Music centre.
Your child will be eligible for financial help with school expenses if you are receiving one of the following benefits:
Income Support or Income based Jobseeker's Allowance
Child Tax Credit - with a taxable income no more than £15,575 and not in receipt of Working Tax Credit
Pension Credit (Garuantee Credit Element)
Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
You will not have to pay the fee for up to half an hour group or shared lesson a week. If you are receiving any other benefits (e.g. Working Tax Credit, Housing Benefit or Council Tax rebate), you will pay only 50% of the fee.
If you complete the
How Can We Help? application form, you can find out if you are eligible for help with the cost of music fees. You should also speak to your school/music centre to find out what lessons are available. The school/music centre has to provide further information before an application can be approved by Hertfordshire Music Service. There are deadlines each term for applications so if you think you are eligible please apply without delay. Music tuition should not commence until all the relevant paperwork is completed.
