Grants for School Visits (UK & Abroad)

The Hertfordshire Educational Foundation is a small registered charity that was established in 1950 to provide support for young people in need in Hertfordshire. One of the ways in which the charity’s limited funds have been used has been to support pupils taking part in educational visits arranged by their school. This policy will continue but the Governors of the Foundation have reviewed the criteria for providing grants for school journeys in order to take account of the current legislation concerning schools’ charging policies.

Applications to support parents who are unable to pay for all or part of the board and lodging element of school journeys will still be considered but grants will only be given when the Headteacher supplies evidence of an exceptional situation or for reasons other than financial.

It would be appreciated if completed application forms could be forwarded at least six weeks prior to the proposed visit.

An application, using the appropriate form (file attached below) should be submitted to:

The Honorary Secretary
Hertfordshire Educational Foundation
c/o Children, Schools & Families
County Hall
Hertford
Herts
SG13 8DF

Local authority schools may use the HCC Courier service.

An application form can also be obtained by calling 01992 588525.
