The Sir George Burns Fund
The objective of the fund is to provide grants for young people with disabilities, and other young people whom, for one reason or another, the Governors of the Foundation might regard as underprivileged.
Would you like to purchase a special item of equipment or aid to enable you to become involved in recreational and educational activities, or take part in an expedition, short course or conference either within the United Kingdom or abroad?
If the answer is "Yes" to the above question and you have a disability or are underprivileged, between 16 and 21 years of age, with a home address in Hertfordshire, you may be eligible for a small award from The Sir George Burns Fund.
Awards are made to individuals and not to groups. The amount of award will depend to some extent on the number and nature of applications, but is usually in the region of between £50 and £500.
Applications are now invited for 2008/09 and should be submitted via the Head of your school or college, a Youth Leader or other sponsor, who is requested to write a brief note on your suitability for an award. Applications are considered three times a year by the Governors of the Hertfordshire Educational Foundation, and the closing dates for aplications are 15 October 2008, 17 February and 19 May 2009.
