Hertfordshire Educational Foundation

www.hertsdirect.org/hef

The Hertfordshire Educational Foundation has been a registered charity with a modest investment income since 1950. The scheme was framed by the Minister of Education under the Endowed Schools Act 1869 to 1948 and was approved by His Majesty in Council on 9 October 1950.

The Foundation provides bursaries for individual Hertfordshire pupils and students to take part in a wide range of educational visits and expeditions on a worldwide basis. These bursaries are designed to assist young people who would otherwise not be able to afford the cost.

The Foundation also administers the Sir George Burns Fund, which gives help to disabled or disadvantaged young people, usually by assisting with the purchase of educational equipment for a particular educational project.
