Parents and carers have an important role in supporting their children’s learning.
Joining a family learning programme can offer you the opportunity to:

• Development your own skills, access qualifications and information on concerning further learning
Our Family Learning programmes include:
Wider Family Learning for parents/carers/ grandparents and children to enjoy learning together

• Making story or singing sacks

Keeping up with the children
Keep one step ahead of your children - this programme will enable you to become more confident by understanding how English and maths are taught in school today. It will also give you an opportunity to improve your own skills.
Family literacy, language and numeracy
An opportunity for parents/carers and children to work together to improve their reading, writing, language or maths skills.
Play and Language
For parents/carers with pre-school age children to explore ways of playing, talking and listening to their babies/ toddlers and develop a better understanding of early language development. It will also give you an opportunity to improve your own skills.
Family learning activities take place in schools, children’s centres, community centres and libraries across Hertfordshire.
All our programmes are taught by experienced and qualified tutors who will help you achieve your own goals. You will also have access to advice and guidance through ‘nextstep’. Some of the courses will also give you the opportunity to gain and up to date qualification in English and/ or maths.
