nextstep – supporting you to support your learners

Why not support your learners with a link to a programme that provides information and advice on learning and work opportunities to adults over 20?

nextstep is a national programme, funded by the Learning and Skills Council. It provides free one-to-one information and advice on learning and career development for adults over 20 who are employed, but have low or no qualifications, for example, fewer that 5 GSCEs or an NVQ level 2.

nextstep aims to help ACL providers grow by supporting learners develop and train according to their needs.

What are the benefits for your organisation?

nextstep will work with you to help learners:

 improve their skills and productivity

 identify their learning needs

nextstep will help you to develop your learners by:

 offering advice and an opportunity for them to discuss their training and development needs in confidence, or within a group environment, with one of our qualified advisers

 helping them to make informed decisions based on their own needs and personal circumstances

 working with them to create a personal career action plan

 encouraging them to be more motivated to progress within your training structure

How does it work?

nextstep will organise for you to meet with one of our advisers to discuss the training needs within your training provision. The adviser will work with you to agree a development plan for your learners. This plan will determine how our adviser supports your learners’ development and ensure maximum productivity for your training organisation.
