Skills for Life Providers' Page

Hertfordshire Adult and Family Learning Service is committed to contributing to the government’s Skills for Life strategy and supporting learners with Skills for Life needs.

We will achieve this by:

• Increasing the number of Skills for Life learners enrolled on ACL courses.

• Developing systems for supporting learners with literacy, language and numeracy needs.


To facilitate the capacity of the organisation and its partners to support the national and regional Skills for Life strategy we will

• Develop a whole organisation Skills for Life Strategy
• Implement a Literacy, Language and Numeracy Policy to support learners
• Provide a Skills for Life Toolkit
• Provide a framework of ILPs to support the recording of progress and achievement of learners
• Support providers capacity to implement and develop high quality Skills for Life provision through quality monitoring visits and development opportunities
• Support the development of progression routes that will enable learners to access National Qualifications
• Support the embedding of Skills for Life in appropriate programmes
