Skills for Life

Skills for Life, the national strategy for improving adult literacy and numeracy skills, was launched in 2001 with targets to help 2,250,000 adults improve their skills.

Hertfordshire Adult and Family Learning Service is committed to supporting adults in Hertfordshire improve their literacy, language or numeracy skills.

To help providers and learners assess skills for life needs we have added a simple screening tool that can be used for learners on ICT courses. Further screening tools are planned for Arts, Media and Publishing learners in the coming year. To access this screening tool please follow the Screening Tools link shown below.
