Widening participation in learning for adults from Black and Minority Ethnic Communities
HAFLS is committed to widening participation and to ensure that its service opens up learning opportunities for those aged over 19 in the county. In meeting the needs of under-represented groups in relation to adults from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities, HAFLS has been proactive in researching the needs of different communities and developing a strategy to increase provision for particular sections of the BME communities who may be disadvantaged and would benefit from engaging in learning.
The purpose of the HAFLS Inclusion and Participation Strategy is to ensure that over time the service widens participation amongst BME groups in the county and identifies those for whom HAFLS needs to give the most support and encouragement to benefit from engaging in adult learning.
