Hertfordshire Adult and Family Learning Service (HAFLS)
Hertfordshire Learning and Skills Council contracts with Hertfordshire County Council through its HAFLS team to secure Personal, Community and Development Learning (PCDL) provision in the county. The authority sees this provision as the key to increasing participation in adult learning.
HAFLS funding aims to provide learning opportunities to those who are most in need or have least opportunity to achieve formal and informal qualifications. We want to provide access to a wide range of affordable learning opportunities that will enhance their chances throughout life.
HAFLS sub-contracts with a range of internal and external providers to plan and deliver a countywide programme of adult learning. Increasingly the voluntary and community sector are delivering this provision.
