Further information about Junior and Middle Admissions

This is the process for transfer to Junior or Middle school in September 2008.

Junior School Admissions

For children born between 01.09.00-31.08.01

Children can be educated in a Primary school from 5 to 11 or at a separate Infant school from 5 to 7 before moving on to a Junior school until they are 11.

The process applies only to the 39 pairs of Infant and linked Junior schools and not the 300+ primary schools. If a child joins a JMI school at age 5 they move through the school without the need for a transfer process until the age of 11

Parents in Year 2 of all Infant schools will be given a booklet on 21 November 2007 from their child’s current infant school. All parents/carers that want their children to transfer to a junior school place need to apply online or complete the 'Junior and Middle Application Form' at the back of the ' Joining Junior or Middle School' booklet.
