Secondary Transfer - Changes to Admission Rule 3 (Sibling)
Important information regarding your application for a community or voluntary controlled secondary/upper school place for admission to school in 2007
Hertfordshire County Council has been directed by the Secretary of State for Education and Skills to change admission rule 3, the sibling rule, for the current secondary transfer process for community and voluntary controlled secondary schools.
Please note:
• you only need to take any action if you have applied for a place at a community or voluntary controlled secondary school, or Ashlyns, Cheshunt, Goffs or Mount Grace Schools and;
• there is a reasonable expectation that the older child will be at the school in September 2007 in year 12 or 13.
Rule 3 now reads as follows:
Children who have a brother or sister who will be in the school at the time of admission
A sibling means the sister, brother, half brother or sister, adopted brother or sister, or the child of the parent/carer or partner, and in every case living in the same house Monday to Friday.
We are sorry to have to inform people at this stage of the admissions process, but we want to ensure that families have the best chance of securing a place at one of their preferred schools. If you have any further questions please call the Customer Service Centre on 01438 737500 (or 01923 471500 for 01923/0208 numbers).
