Specialist Schools and links to local Primary Schools
One of the criteria of a school being designated specialist status is that it offers its resources and expertise to at least five primary and/or secondary schools within its community. The list of partner schools, as mentioned previously, is stated in the Community Plan section of the specialist application.
A database has been set up within County Hall to record which primary and secondary schools are benefiting from links with specialist schools. Conversely, it also informs of the schools not benefiting from the expertise available. Efforts can then be made to make sure all schools receive the support and resources available to them.
