What are the Specialisms?

There were 11 specialist schools in Hertfordshire by 2001, and all of these specialised in either Technology or Languages. By 2002, a further six schools gained specialist status, offering Business and Enterprise, Sports and the Arts as specialisms. Currently, 67 secondary schools in Herts are now specialist. There are now 11 Specialisms, which cover the full range of the National Curriculum:

• Music
