Division of Responsibility

The school and Hertfordshire County Council each have defined responsibilities for funding and implementing different aspects of Repairs & Maintenance works.

Information on the division of responsibility of repairs and maintenance is to be found in The Financial Handbook for Schools - Guidance for Schools (CSF) starting from page 56.

The handbook contains key documents setting out the financial relationship and financial management requirements between Hertfordshire Local Authority and its schools.  The handbook applies to all community, voluntary, foundation and special schools maintained by Hertfordshire County Council.

The condition matrix, which can be found on the right hand side of this page, is used to inform Hertfordshire County Council's planned maintenance programme and Service Planning Priorities.
