The information in this section is intended to assist you with all aspects of the management of your school grounds.
The qualities of the grounds, and the usage of them, are likely to be of increasing importance. They are a major resource which should be effectively and efficiently managed. They are a ''First impression'' for visitors, an educational resource (including DCSF statutory requirements) and should be made available for use by the community or other third parties. They should also be made fully accessible to the disabled.
Since September 1993, Grounds Management has been a school responsibility. This is referred to in the LMS Scheme for Financing Schools as 'Grounds Maintenance, Playing Field Amenities, Landscaping and Boundary Hedging: This includes trees.
