A simple tool to locate places of interest on a map. You can pan and zoom to see the surrounding area and get more information.
Choose the
zoom
in or
zoom out
tool then either click on the place of interest on the map or drag a box around the part of the map
that you want to see.
If you get lost try zooming out or click on the
view county
button to see the whole of Hertfordshire and start again.
Use the arrows at the edges and corners of the map to move around. Alternatively the
pan tool
will enable you to drag a point on the map to a different position.
You can choose what to show on the map from the display list. Click the folders to open them.
Tick a square box to show the layer on the map. If there is a magnifying glass in the square box the layer will only
be drawn at an appropriate scale. Click the
legend icon to see how the layer is displayed. Click the
tag to turn on or off labels on the map. Click a circle to choose which item the
infomation tool will show details for.
You can get details of items shown on the map by using the
information tool. First choose what you are interested in from the display list on the right by clicking the circle next to it. Then click on or drag a box around the place of interest on the map. A table of the details will appear below the map.
