Local Transport Plan

LTP2 cover Improving transport for everyone who lives, works or travels in Hertfordshire is a key priority for us at Hertfordshire County Council. To enable us to plan and improve transport in the county, we produce a plan every five years. This is called the Local Transport Plan, and we produce a report on an annual basis to show our achievements against it.

The plan sets out how we will improve transport across the county. It looks at everything from how we can make it safer for you to cross the road to how we can reduce congestion on your journey to work. The plan covers small schemes which will be developed through consultation with local people, as well as major schemes which will be developed through wide public consultation for the benefit of the county as a whole.

The current Local Transport Plan covers the period 2006/07 - 2010/11 and will build on the successes of our first Local Transport Plan (which ran from 2001/02 to 2005/06).
