Library services for teachers

Hertfordshire public libraries aim to meet the needs of individual children by providing a range of resources to enrich their learning experience, and to develop their love of books and reading. We also provide opportunities for classes of children to visit the library where they can learn what the public library has to offer

Teachers may join the library as individual members, however there are no additional concessions available for teachers.


Schools Library Service
The Schools Library Service (SLS) is a Traded Service and is available to all schools on a subscription or Pay As You Use basis.
SLS offers schools:

• Access to books and other resources for loan and purchase
• Advice on policy and development planning
• Practical help with all aspects of library provision and use, including ICT and reading for enjoyment
