Hire of Music and Play Sets

Orchestral music, wind band music, school ensemble music, vocal scores and play sets may be hired using a group ticket held at the Performing Arts Library. Group membership is free. Please use the Contact Us page on this website to enquire about group membership.

Music and play sets can be reserved up to 12 months in advance and can be borrowed for up to a year. Items can be collected from any Hertfordshire Library by arrangement.

All charges include the reservation fee. Music and play sets can be borrowed from other library authorities, but an additional Inter Library Loan charge is made for this service (minimum £7.00).

There will be a charge for sets that are returned incomplete or damaged. This will be the replacement cost of the item(s) plus an administration charge of £10.00

Music Sets

Sets of vocal scores are available including operas, musicals, anthems, madrigals, masses, carols and some libretti.

Vocal Scores £1.75 per month for each batch of 10 copies
Packaged Vocal Sets £1.75 per month

Sets of orchestral score and parts are available for many popular classical works. Wind band scores and parts are available, and we also have a selection of school ensemble arrangements.

Play Sets

Our collection of play sets includes full length and one act plays, collections for women, young people and children, pantomimes and melodramas. The hire charge for play sets is £1.75 per month.
