Working for Hertfordshire libraries

We have a range of job opportunities in our libraries :-
  • Library assistants who work with the public, carry out routine tasks such as shelving and issuing books plus dealing with enquiries.
  • Library managers who are responsible for the day to day operation of our libraries as well as working with the public.
  • Librarians (either qualified or chartered) who undertake service responsibilities such as work with children and young people, selecting books and other resources, managing and promoting the stock, lifelong learning etc.
  • Support staff to provide personnel, administrative and financial support to libraries.
  • Staff to work in our technical support services unit, who deal with the acquisition, cataloguing and inter-library lending of stock.
If you wish to work in our libraries you can see what current vacancies there are by checking the HertsJobs website or the Jobs Channel on HertsDirect. You will also see job vacancies that are available within the rest of Hertfordshire County Council.
