Bookstart Book Crawl

Book Crawl - Girl with certificates

Collect certificates for visiting the library!

Bookstart Book Crawl is a free scheme to encourage babies, toddlers and pre-school children to join their local library.

How can my child take part?
  • All children under five can take part in the Bookstart Book Crawl
  • You can pick up a Book Crawl collectors card in any Hertfordshire library
  • Each time your child visits the library, whether for Baby Rhyme Time, Story and Rhyme time or to borrow items, they will receive a sticker
  • Once they have collected four stickers they will be presented with a colourful certificate
  • There are lots of attractive certificates to collect, each one designed by a popular children's illustrator. Children will enjoy collecting the certificates as a keepsake of their earliest years as a library member
  • Children who have collected 10 certificates will also be presented with a limited edition Golden Book Crawl Certificate...so start collecting now!

Children taking part in the Book Crawl need to be a member of the library. Children are never too young to join and membership is free. Visit your local library and take along proof of your current address e.g. a recent household bill or click on the online membership link on the top right hand corner of this page.
