Melville Millennium Study Fund
A fund has been created to support and encourage studies concerning the historic county town of Hertford.
Hertford Civic Society was formed over 30 years ago to protect the architectural heritage of the county town and to encourage the best in contemporary design.
The Melville Millennium Fund is a venture set up in memory of the late Alan Melville, whose drive and enthusiasm inspired the Society for many years.
The fund was created to support and encourage studies and research by individuals, on matters of interest concerning Hertford. Amateur and professional researchers and students are invited to apply for annual grants by the fund's trustees.
The intention is that any grants given are as an encouragement, and not as the sole cost of a project. However, any such projects would be expected to acknowledge the assistance of the Civic Society in any related publicity or publications, and be in line with the aims and objectives of the organisation. Applicants would also be expected to allow the Society to observe the project throughout the undertaking.
