Hertfordshire Archives & Local Studies holds the records relating to vehicle licensing in Hertfordshire before this responsibility was passed to the DVLA (Driver Vehicle Licensing Authority).
These records contain details of car number plates, date of registration and first owners and are used by people researching vintage vehicles.
