Archives & Local Studies has more than 30,000 titles covering all aspects of Hertfordshire, the earliest dating from the 1600s, including many rare and out of print titles. Details of many of the books available are on the libraries' catalogue. All books at Archives & Local Studies are for reference only.

The pamphlet collection contains a wide range of items such as cuttings, photocopied extracts, sales particulars, typescript notes, leaflets and guides. These are indexed by place and subject and together they provide an extensive and unique resource.
