New Additions
An index to photographs of people in the Hertfordshire Mercury 1937-1950 was added June 2009.

Hertford Union Workhouse: A name index to the admission and discharge books of the Hertford Union workhouse, 1873–1876; 1887-1900 [reference BG/HER] was added April 2009. These books list people admitted to the workhouse each day and those who were discharged or died each day. The original books provide information on why a person was admitted into the workhouse and where they were discharged to. The index can be found Miscellaneous Names section.
