IMPORTANT
We regret that due to essential upgrades to our archive stores throughout June and July you may experience some disruptions to our service provided in the Archive Reading Room. Some documents may be unavailable for consultation for short periods of time and productions from our strong rooms could take slightly longer than usual. There may also be some noise made by workmen during this period which may disrupt both reading rooms and your patience is requested. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

We are open from 9.00 am each day except for Tuesdays:
Monday 9.00 - 17.30
Tuesday 10.00 - 19.30
Wednesday 9.00 - 17.30
Thursday 9.00 - 19.30
Friday 9.00 - 17.00
Saturday 9.00 - 13.00
It is not necessary to book. We are closed on Bank Holidays.
Please note that original documents cannot be produced during the last hour before closing. If you would like to view documents on a Saturday it would be helpful if your order is placed by 2.30pm on Friday as some documents are held off site.
You will be asked to put bags into a locker and to use pencils only.
