Are your records available on the internet?

Hers Icon

The records themselves are not on the internet, however some of our catalogues can be searched online. See the a2a (Access to Archives) website.

Hertfordshire Names Online allows you internet access to Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies indexes to local and family history sources. Click on the link on the right hand side to search Hertfordshire Names Online

Searching the Index is free and you can do a simple or advanced search. If you find any items of interest you can request a quote for the amount it would cost to copy the document. Full details of our reprographic service can be found on our website.

Many of our most frequently used records, such as parish registers and wills are on microfilm to save wear and tear on the originals. We have reader printers available to make photocopies.
