How to get a copy of an historic baptism, marriage, or burial register entry

Archives & Local Studies can provide copies from baptism, marriage, and burial registers for Hertfordshire events (usually for family history purposes), where microfilms are available. Please select the link below for more information about parish registers.



Microfilm copies can be obtained by post using the research service, (£7.00 which includes 2 copies)or in person. (50p per print).

Where an official document is required to prove a baptism or marriage (e.g. for Catholic marriage, or cases of non birth registration) Archives & Local Studies can issue a signed certificate for £7.00.

Confirmation certificates can also be obtained from Archives & Local Studies, price £10.00.

Certificates of post-1837 births, marriages and deaths can be purchased from the Registration Service. Please click on the button on the right for more details.
