Public Monuments and Sculpture Association

The Public Monuments and Sculpture Association (PMSA) was founded in 1992 with the intention of raising public awareness of art works within local communities. The decision was taken to make a national survey of all monuments and sculpture and for this information to be made available on a website. In addition the University of Liverpool is publishing an associated series of volumes with well-researched documentation for each work.

Barbara and Graham Thompson are surveying the monuments and sculpture of Hertfordshire and the volume will be published in due course. It is hoped that the information will inform and give pleasure to those living, working and visiting Hertfordshire and will also help protect works that by nature of their siting in the public domain are vulnerable to the elements, the effects of time and sometimes sadly to theft or vandalism.

For more information about the PMSA, membership and books in the series mentioned above; please visit the website www.pmsa.org.uk or click on the signpost on the right hand side of this page.
