One day workshop. Interactive acrylics

Venue: Branfield Village Hall, Bury Lane, Bramfield, Nr Hertford.

Date: Thursday 3rd July

Time: 10.00am to 4.00pm

Interactive acrylics - Using this exciting new range of acylics will will spend the morning creating an oil style acrylic and the afternoon using it as a watercolour. The session includes a starter pack of Atelier Interactive Acrylics worth £15. Sessions cost £50 including lunch, tea, coffee, biscuits and the acrylic pack. You will need to bring brushes, water pot, rag, palette and watercolour paper.

Oil Painting for Improvers

Venue: Artshed Art Centre, Ware.

Date: Saturday 5th July

Time: 10.00am to 4.00pm.

Oil Painting for Improvers with Lorna Brown.

This oil painting day is designed to introduce those who have started using oils but wish to go one step further. The day introduces new mediums, blends and finishes and varnishes. Using the different mediums create a new look to your work, gives you the opportunity to explore your own range.

Cost: £55.00 per day including all materials (except a canvas) and a light lunch and refreshments.

One day workshop. Beginners watercolours

Venue: Branfield Village Hall, Bury Lane, Bramfield, Nr Hertford.

Date: Saturday 19th July

Time: 1.00pm to 5.00pm

Beginners watercolours; if you have always wanted a go but never got started then this is the course for you. Also, if you have not touched you watercolours for a while, this will be the prefect refresher. We will look at wet in wet, using this technique for skies. We will also look at the basics of tress and creating a simple landscape. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be included.

The cost for this session is £22.00. You will need to bring your own equipment; paper, paint, brushes, water pot, palette and rag. If you do not have any materials, please do not hesitate to get in touch and I will help with your requirements.

Top Hat Stage School Summer Courses 2008

Little Shop of Horrors
The Hilarious, the zaniest and most loved rock musical for kids is here and Top Hat is looking for children aged 4 - 17 years to take part in this fun 5 day course this summer. Learn the lines, the dance routines in just 5 days, before performing it to friends and families on the Friday evening.

High School Musical
* Monday 18th August to Friday 22nd August Campus West in Welwyn Garden City

Our Youth Theatre courses take place over five days from 10.00am to 3.00pm each day or 10.00am to 1.00pm for four and five year olds). There is a final performance on the Friday evening at 6.00pm for friends and families to watch and enjoy.

Film Making Course for 10 years plus
Following on from the success of Top Hat’s previous film courses in the "Top Hat High series", comes "Top Hat High 4".

This 4 day course will take place at the John Henry Newman School in Stevenage from Wednesday 27th to Saturday 30th of August, 10.00am-3.00pm each day.

Fully supervised by a professional camera crew, students will learn about the filmmaking process, both in front and behind the camera. Those interested in directing are also highly welcome on the course and will get a chance to direct an actual scene. Places go very fast on this course and places are strictly limited and only available to children over the age of 10 years. No previous experience is necessary.

Magic Of the Musicals Summer Workshop

The Victoria Hall Theatre is proud to announce that the Magic of the Musicals Summer Workshop will be returning for it's second year. Run by theatre professionals, the five day course is open to children aged between 8 and 16 years old. Running Monday to Friday, with a performance on Friday 8th August at 7pm.

The course covers all aspects of musical theatre with opportunities to learn new skills and have fun week in the theatre.

Mornings: 10.00am to 12.30pm
Start to Stitch (ages 8 to 11). Spend four mornings making fun projects and learning basic hand sewing skills. You will complete Stitchclub Level 1 and start on your way through our unique Stitchclub Sewing Curriculum to become a Super Stitcher!

Afternoons: 1.30pm to 4.00pm
Keep on Stitching (for Teens and Juniors who have completed levels 1 & 2) - four afternoons creating fun holiday projects using hand stitching and sewing machines to develop your sewing skills and creativity!

We are now enrolling for our Summer 2008 workshop which includes drama, dance and singing. The workshop will run from Monday 18th August until Friday 22nd August at St Teresa's Primary School, Borehamwood.

The Alice in Wonderland Theatrical Experience

Venue: Beaumont School, St Albans.

A week long Summer drama course for 7-12 year olds led by the Basement Youth Theatre. Children will be involved in every aspect of the production process from acting, singing and dancing to making scenery.
